Katherine, the protagonist, wants to make her first experience mean something. The story is about young love, the first sexual encounter of a high school girl. Despite their arguments, however, Blume's book still stirs the emotions and not just of those who read it for enjoyment. Some parents have complained that they could understand why the book might have been banned when they were teens in the 1970s, but they do not understand why it is banned in the early 2000s. The controversy revolves around the candid discussion of teenage sex that Forever … provides. The book even has made it on the American Library Association's (ALA) top one hundred banned books list. Despite the fact that it is one of the most popular with her readers, it is also one of the most controversial of Blume's books, with some librarians and county officials having banned it shortly after it appeared and as recently as 2005. Forever …, published in 1975, is Judy Blume's eleventh book and in some ways has remained a troublesome publication for the author.

But I'd like to hear more about Meena and her new adventures. If it's not, then the story stands very well on its own. Meena's gift adds another great element to the story and I hope that this is the beginning of a series. I like that the vampires were real vampires, teeth and seduction and blood drinking, and were unapologetic about it. Alaric, in particular, was my least favorite character.I thought the story was fun and fresh and enjoyed all the digs at the current vampire trend. I was less than infatuated with Lucien and the vampire slayer, Alaric. I really liked her and her brother and her neighbors. She is very relatable, with her frustrations with her job and her relationships. She has the power to see when a person is going to die and so that makes her much more sympathetic to others. The characters are much more rounded and usually don't make me feel like shaking anyone. The Little BookwormAs much as I love Meg Cabot's young adult books, I really love her adult books. 5/24/2023 0 Comments Radiant Girl by Andrea WhiteTroubleshoot your choices.
